HyperOS 3.1 Guide: New Features, Eligible Devices and Fixes

HyperOS 3.1 is the Android 16–based follow-up to HyperOS 3. This hub lists what is actually new, which Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices are eligible, and what to do when a promised feature is missing or the update does not arrive.

Every feature claim here is labelled confirmed, reported or not available on all devices. We do not copy trending-video claims without a Xiaomi source or on-device check. Use the links below for one-question spokes — each links back here.

Sourcing

Eligibility and Android 16 base are confirmed only when c.mi.com or mi.com lists the build. Last checked: 2026-03-15. See editorial policy.

In this hub

HyperOS 3.1 new features — confirmed vs reported

HyperOS 3.1 builds on HyperOS 3 with refinements rather than a new visual system. We list only what we can verify via release notes or device testing.

Android 16 base

HyperOS 3.1 runs on Android 16 for eligible devices. This affects permission screens and background limits, but Xiaomi’s HyperOS controls still govern battery restrictions.

If WhatsApp delays persist on HyperOS 3.1, the fix remains the same per-app battery path — see Fixes hub. We note Android version per guide in the Tested-on line.

Eligible devices and rollout

Eligibility is not guessed. We publish a device as HyperOS 3.1 eligible only when Xiaomi confirms it for your region and Android 16 build appears in official notes.

Missing features & device differences

Not every eligible device gets every 3.1 feature. Super Island, recent-apps layout and AirPods pop-up differ by model and region. We label these clearly rather than claiming “all devices get it.”

Fixes that stay useful on HyperOS 3.1

The evergreen problems below do not change meaningfully between 3.0 and 3.1, so one tested guide serves both. No near-duplicate Redmi/Poco pages.
