Quick answer
HyperOS 2.0 has a built-in lock screen editor. Long-press the lock screen and tap Customize, or open Settings → Wallpaper & personalization → Lock screen, to change the clock style, wallpaper, bottom shortcuts and widgets. No Themes app download or external file is needed. It takes about 4–5 minutes.
Where the lock screen editor lives
The editor is the same canvas whether you open it from the lock screen or from Settings. HyperOS opens it directly on the device, so you do not need to install themes, APKs or fonts. On Global builds it is available on Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13T and POCO F6. The old Themes-based method is no longer needed and can overwrite your clock style after a reboot.
Tip
Long-press the lock screen while the phone is locked with face unlock paused, then tap Customize. This official path does not need the Themes app.
Change the clock, wallpaper and bottom shortcuts
This section covers the three visual controls that matter most for daily use. Keep the look simple for better legibility in sunlight.
Open the editor via Settings → Wallpaper & personalization → Lock screen or via the long-press on the lock screen. The preview updates live as you change options, so you can judge spacing and contrast before you save.
Tap Clock style to choose Classic, Magazine or Minimal. Classic suits a clean time-only look, Magazine adds a larger date line, and Minimal uses a thin weight that pairs well with busy wallpapers. Adjust the colour from the palette that matches your wallpaper, and avoid very light tones on light images where the clock becomes hard to read outdoors.
Tap Wallpaper and pick a Gallery photo or a Default gradient. On POCO F6 a still gradient uses less power than a live wallpaper. Then tap the two shortcut circles at the bottom of the preview and set Left and Right to Camera, Flashlight, Wallet or None. Choose None for one side if you trigger shortcuts by accident in a pocket.
Add widgets in HyperOS 2.0
Widgets on HyperOS 2.0 sit just below the clock. Only one row appears on 6.36-inch screens, so limit yourself to two or three items.
- In the same editor, tap Widgets and enable the options you see: At a glance, Battery and Weather. The exact names depend on region. Weather appears on Global and India builds more often than on EEA.
- Drag to reorder. Keep At a glance first, then Battery or Weather. Too many items crowd the preview and push the clock down.
Tap Apply and choose Set to lock screen. If offered, keep your home screen wallpaper unchanged so only the lock screen changes. Lock and wake the device once and check that shortcuts open the right app and that the clock is readable in bright light.
If the Customize button does not appear
If long-press shows only Wallpaper settings without Customize, the phone is likely using a third-party launcher or a custom lock-screen app. HyperOS shows the editor only with the default System Launcher. Remove the third-party lock screen, set System Launcher as default in Settings → Home screen → Default launcher, and try again.
If the clock style resets after a reboot, open the Themes app and turn off Apply theme on reboot, or delete any saved theme that reapplies an old style. Do not re-download themes to fix this; the built-in editor holds the setting more reliably.
Quick samjho
Lock screen ko change karne ke liye theme download karne ki zarurat nahi hai. Bas lock screen ko press karke Customize dabao ya Settings me Wallpaper & personalization me jao — wahan se clock, wallpaper aur neeche ke shortcuts aaram se badal sakte ho.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the Weather widget on EEA phones?
Weather is limited on some EEA builds. If it is missing, it is not hidden by a setting — the region build does not include it. Do not switch your Xiaomi Account region to get it.
Will changing the lock screen affect battery?
A still wallpaper and one widget row have no meaningful effect. Live wallpapers add a small constant draw. Keep Auto brightness on and the impact stays low.
