Needs verification

This guide is for an update-related flow and has not been re-checked in the last 60 days. Treat version numbers and release dates as “needs verification” until you see Settings → About phone → OS version on your own device. Do not download firmware from unknown sites.

Before you continue — risk of data loss

This guide includes steps that can change notifications, reset settings or change region. Back up chats to Google Drive and keep your Mi Account password handy. Try safer alternatives first (described below). Do not proceed on low battery.

Builds we verified

This tracker summarizes OTAs shown on device and on official community pages. We do not host files.

Region Build Android Verified on device Notes
EEA 2.0.1.0.VNCEUXM 14 28 Feb 2026 First EEA HyperOS 2.0 OTA, ~5.2 GB full
Global 2.0.3.0.VNCMIXM 15 10 Mar 2026 March security patch, animation fix

Never flash manually from file sites

Do not download ROMs from unofficial mirrors. If your Updater shows no OTA, wait — staged rollouts can take 2–3 weeks per region. Manual flashing via recovery can erase data if you pick the wrong region build.

How to update safely

Safer alternatives first

  • Stay on your current build if your phone works well and you need it for travel/work this week — updates can be deferred.
  • Back up before any update, even OTAs.

Steps

  1. Back up: Settings → About phone → Back up and restoreMobile device → back up to Xiaomi Cloud + Google.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi and keep battery above 50 % or plug in.
  3. Settings → About phone → OS version → Check for updates.
  4. When the OTA appears, tap DownloadReboot and install. Do not force-reboot during installation.
  5. After reboot, verify OS version and check Settings → Apps → Manage apps for apps stuck on “Updating”.

Do not change region to get the update early

Switching region in Settings to receive an EEA build on a Global device can hide OTAs later and confuse eSIM/banking apps. Keep your purchased region and wait for the OTA.

Post-update checklist

  • Re-check Notifications & status bar per-app settings — a small number of users report resets after major updates.
  • Clear Settings → Storage → Cached data only if storage warnings appear; no need to factory reset for a routine OTA.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sideload the Global ROM on an EEA device?

We do not guide manual ROM flashing. Builds are region-specific and flashing the wrong one requires a data wipe and can affect modem configuration.

Why do friends get the OTA earlier?

Xiaomi uses staged rollouts per region and IMEI batch. Two identical POCO F6 phones can receive OTAs weeks apart.

Should I factory reset after HyperOS 2.0?

No. Factory reset is not required after an OTA. Only consider it if you see persistent battery or app crashes after 48 hours, and back up first.
