Quick answer

If HyperOS 3 shows the old notification shade or no Control Center, open Settings → Notifications & status bar → Control center style and choose New version. On HyperOS 3.1 this is under Settings → Notifications & status bar → Control center. Swipe down from the right edge to test.

Why it changes after an update

HyperOS keeps the old style visible for users who customized the shade before updating. On Xiaomi 14 and POCO F6 the new style is available but not auto-selected if you had a custom theme. Redmi Note 13 Pro sometimes shows the toggle under a different translation: Control centre layout — same switch. We saw this on Global HyperOS 3 (Android 15) and EEA HyperOS 3.1 (Android 16).

Restore the new Control Center

Only official settings are needed.

  1. Open Settings → Notifications & status bar.
  2. Tap Control center style (or Control center on HyperOS 3.1).
  3. Select New version for the separate Control Center swipe (right edge) and notification shade (left). Choose Old version if you prefer the combined shade — both are supported.
  4. Swipe down from the top-right corner. You should see the new card layout with brightness slider at top. If not, restart System Launcher in Settings → Apps → System Launcher → Force stop and try again.

Tip

If you use a third-party launcher, the new Control Center still works, but some themes override its icons. Switch back to one default HyperOS theme before judging the layout.

If the toggle is missing

Search Control center in the top Settings search. On a few POCO builds the path is Settings → Notifications & status bar → Control center → Use new Control center → On. That is the same option under a split toggle.

Frequently asked questions

Where did brightness go?

In the new style, brightness and volume sit at the top of the Control Center as sliders. Swipe right edge down to see them.

Does this affect screen casting?

No. Cast controls stay in Settings → Connection & sharing regardless of style.
