How to Disable App Vault on HyperOS and Stop App-Vault Pop-ups

App Vault pop-ups on HyperOS come from the left-most swipe panel, not from an app you installed. You can disable that panel completely by turning off App Vault in Home screen settings, or keep the panel and only turn off its recommendations. Both use official Settings, take about three minutes, and are fully reversible. Uninstalling App Vault with ADB is not needed and can break the launcher after an update.

What does not work is turning off App Vault from inside its own search bar or clearing its cache only. Those actions hide content for one session, but the swipe gesture returns after a reboot. The step below changes the Home screen setting that controls the gesture itself. It applies to HyperOS 3 and 3.1 on Xiaomi 14, POCO F6 and Redmi Note 13 Pro, with a small label difference by region. Check Settings → About phone → OS version before you start.

Why App Vault appears after the HyperOS update

HyperOS enables App Vault by default after a major system update. On Xiaomi and POCO phones the first swipe left from the home screen then opens a panel with widgets, suggested apps and trending cards. This is separate from App Vault’s own Recommendation cards inside the panel — the swipe enables the container, the recommendations toggle controls what appears inside it.

The panel is managed by the system launcher. On HyperOS 3 the launcher keeps App Vault on even if you never opened it, which is why many users first notice it right after the OTA. On Redmi Note 13 Pro India builds the same panel is labelled -1 screen (App Vault), while Global and EEA builds label it App Vault. The switch is in the same place: Home screen settings.

A common misunderstanding is that App Vault is part of the Security app. It is not. Disabling App Vault does not turn off Cleaner, Battery or Find device. If you want fewer promoted cards but still want the calendar and notes widgets, you do not need to disable the whole panel — turning off Receive recommendations inside App Vault is enough, as described in the steps below.

Steps to disable App Vault or its recommendations

Use only the official toggles. No ADB, no theme change and no unknown-source install is needed. Do the main toggle first, then decide if you also need the recommendations step.

Disabling the panel removes the swipe gesture. Turning off recommendations keeps the swipe but hides the promoted cards. Choose one based on whether you use the widgets. Both changes survive a reboot and can be undone from the same screen.

1. Open Settings → Home screen. On HyperOS 3.1 you will see Swipe to open App Vault near the top; on HyperOS 3 it appears as App Vault. The list is the same — only the title was renamed.

2. Switch the main toggle Off. On India builds, the row may appear as -1 screen (App Vault) → Off. This stops the left swipe from opening anything. Swipe left from the first home screen to confirm the panel no longer appears.

3. If you want to keep the panel but hide promoted content, leave the main toggle On and instead open App Vault → Settings (gear icon) → Receive recommendations → Off. The exact text varies: some builds show Personalized recommendations rather than Receive recommendations. They are the same control.

4. Restart the launcher once by opening Settings → Apps → Manage apps → System Launcher → Force stop, then open Home again. This clears the cached card layout without deleting your home-screen arrangement.

If it still shows after you turned it off

If the panel still appears after you disabled it, another launcher setting is overriding the toggle. Check these safe next steps rather than reinstalling the launcher.

• Third-party launcher active. HyperOS shows App Vault only with the default System Launcher. If you installed Nova or another launcher, the HyperOS toggle is ignored. Go to Settings → Home screen → Default launcher → System Launcher and then repeat the App Vault step.

• Second Space or Dual Apps. App Vault has a separate flag per space. If you use Second Space, open that space and repeat Home screen → App Vault → Off there as well. A Second Space reboot can reset the flag to On.

• GetApps update restoring it. On a few Global builds, an automatic System Launcher update from GetApps re-enables App Vault. After updating System Launcher, re-open the same Home screen toggle — it remains Off after the second save.

Device and version differences

The App Vault toggle is the same feature on Redmi, POCO and Xiaomi on HyperOS 3 and 3.1. Only the label and search result title differ, not the behavior. The table below shows the confirmed variation; we do not pretend one label fits every phone.

HyperOS 3.1 keeps the same panel but renames the setting to ‘Swipe to open App Vault’ on newer translations. The effect — disabling the left swipe — is identical.

Inside App Vault itself, the recommendations toggle is consistently Receive recommendations on EEA and Personalized recommendations on Global. Both control the same promoted card feed. If you change region to see a different label, the setting does not persist correctly — keep your purchased region.
